Bright MLS is among the greatest examples of collaboration among MLSs in America, initially formed by nine REALTOR® Association-owned MLS in 2017. Since inception, the organization has expanded to 43 shareholder Associations delivering services to agents and brokers from Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, New Jersey, Delaware, West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia. This week, the Bright MLS Board of Directors announced that after an executive search, they have selected Brian Donnellan, the interim President and CEO to continue as the President and CEO.
Those who have tracked Donnellan’s career understand that he was mentored by one of the MLS industry’s most celebrated CEOs, David Charron. Under Charron, Donnellan was the Chief Operations Officer until Charron’s retirement. Donnellan was a key leader in the development of growth through mergers that formed Bright MLS, with specific responsibilities for maintaining satisfaction among current subscribers while adding new ones. Bright MLS has grown to provide services to around 95,000 real estate professionals, more or less tied with California Regional MLS as the largest in the Nation.
The keynote of Donnellan’s career has been creating an environment of service excellence in every operational component of delivery of MLS services, and fostering a culture of accountability within the company. “It is a tremendous honor for me to be chosen to lead an organization that I hold in such high regard,” said Donnellan. “Over the past several months, the Bright team and I have worked extensively to establish a culture of accountability, innovation and customer service that is completely focused on our subscribers and the consumers they represent. In this era of great change in the real estate industry, it is my goal to make Bright MLS the definitive destination for best-in-class data and tools; both for today and tomorrow.”
Brian is the right man for the job. This was a a great decision.
