The National Association of REALTORS® Clear Cooperation Policy was one of the most carefully curated policies that I recall over the past two decades. It involved countless hours by staff, legal, broker meetings, MLS meetings, Association meetings, agent feedback, and a ton of research. Regardless of effort or intention, this policy has drawn the ire of the United States Department of Justice.

The Emerging Issues Advisory Board committee of NAR will be meeting on September 12th/13th, 2024 to take up this issue for consideration at the November NAR meetings. The options before the committee are clear: leave it alone, consider modifications, or repeal the policy until the industry and the DOJ can find a middle ground.

This is a fight or flight moment.

All of us who care deeply about the real estate industry are invited to weigh in on this important matter. Please take this 2 minute survey to express your feelings on this matter. We will share the results. There is an offer to be named, or remain unnamed. Clearly, the committee will listen more to those whose names are on the survey, but everyone’s feedback is helpful. We will present the results both ways.

If you are an MLS, Association, or other network of brokers, MLSs, or Associations –  we would like to encourage you to share the invitation for others to take this survey, as well.
