This year, I celebrate my 57th birthday — a moment that invites reflection. I have donated my birthday to charity: water. Please help me reach the goal of $10,000 – which is enough to bring water in an entire community.

Over the past five decades, we’ve witnessed more technological innovation and disruption than in the previous 500 years combined. We’re racing forward with the potential for extraordinary progress, but also facing unprecedented challenges. My daughter, Alexandra (or Sparkles, as many of you know her), is stepping into this new, uncharted business landscape.

Alexandra will make her first appearance on a WAV Group webinar to provide our work friends with an update on her career since graduating from Syracuse University and introduce our guest, Scott Harrison.

As I near the final chapter of my career (probably 20 years left), I am naturally inclined to rethink how the world works and our role in it. Scott Harrison’s book, Thirst, has been a guiding light for me this year. Like many of us, Scott reached a point where he yearned to make a deeper impact. I am thrilled to be joined on this webinar by the CEO of the company Alexandra works for, and  my new friend, Scott, CEO of charity: water.

I am sure that you will be inspired by this webinar, and will be as grateful as I am to meet Scott. He is one of those people that imagines and executes on improving the lives of others beyond anything that I have ever seen. Scott is driven by world changing ambition. His experiences are lessons for all leaders, especially those in the shelter business.

The mission Scott set for charity: water is clean water for every human on the planet. Today, 700 million people drink dirty water, many walking more than 4 hours a day to carry it back to their homes. Around the world, dirty water kills more families than any other life threat. Water is the most basic and fundamental element of our lives and our health. Through charity: water, Scott has been pioneering the 100% Model, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly to providing clean water. His organization raises approximately $90 million annually and has redefined the non-profit landscape with transparency and innovation.

Scott is the type of leader that sees first what others see eventually. At some level, all of us need to operate our companies with the enduring mission of service above self. His journey began by turning his birthday into a chance to save lives. He will share his innovator’s story (or perhaps dilemma) as he founded charity: water.

Be inspired.

Watch now and learn how you can be part of a movement that’s transforming lives with the most basic human need: clean water. Together, we can end the water crisis.
