Spring From Solid Earth Debuts in Chattanooga

Spring has sprung in the Greater Chattanooga area. Solid Earth launched a stunning consumer facing MLS website today. It leverages responsive design, providing an optimized user experience across all browsers, all operating systems, and works great on all smart mobile devices. The search is front and center, and agent and broker branding are nicely attributed to listings. They also developed a very clean method for displaying the neighborhood market statistics. Solid Earth is the only vendor that has made a full paradigm shift with their approach to MLS technology.  Spring on MLS is the same interface for Spring for the [...]

Tips on Choosing the Right Mobile Solution For Your MLS

For years now our industry has talked about how mobile devices will soon be the primary device used by agents in their day-to-day business.   We have been waiting for our MLS vendors to introduce cutting edge mobile products that would allow this vision of our future to become real.  Advances in mobile are coming, however, not all MLS vendors have kept pace  There has been progress and some solutions are better than others but the reality is, because MLS vendors were slow to provide really compelling mobile solutions, 3rd party mobile vendors saw an opportunity and filled the void.  It [...]

Brazil – Ready for MLS?

Over the last year I have had the pleasure of working with a very talented and visionary team of business people in Brazil, who realize it is time to take real estate in Brazil to the next level.  Today, like much of the world, buying and selling real estate in Brazil is a frustrating, fragmented affair, where sellers always feel they have not reached the right buyer and sold their property for too little and sellers always feel they have not seen the right property to buy and, of course, they worry they paid too much.  Why? Because in Brazil [...]

Could MLS Mobile Technology Create Another Leapfrog Event?

For years now we have been pointing out that in the not too distant future mobile technology will be the most important part of an MLS system.  In fact, we have noted that mobile technology will, in fact, be the MLS system.  That distant future is here and mobile is finally coming of age.  We are seeing more advances in MLS mobile technology over the last year or so than we have seen since mobile was introduced.  These advances in mobile, however, also bring some very interesting questions. All MLS vendors today have some form of a mobile solution. [...]

It’s Time To Work Together And Raise The Bar

We run into the discussion/disagreement, call it what you will, on a regular basis during MLS strategic planning meetings on what the actual role of the MLS should be and what technology it should deliver.  This conversation will differ somewhat from MLS to MLS depending on the make up of the largest brokers in the MLS but there is typically a push back from the larger brokers who feel the MLS should not provide technology that "levels the playing field", to use the the phrase we have all heard too much.  I really understand this argument because it seems to [...]
